City Recital Hall hosts, presents and produces over 240 concerts and events each year. Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, the 1238-seat Hall is recognised for its world-class acoustics ideally suited to performances of fine music, and increasingly, for presentations of a diverse range of contemporary performances including jazz, indie, pop and soul, as well as presentations, talks and conferences.

Marketing Coordinator 

The Role

The Marketing Coordinator is an all-rounder role, which works closely with the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Coordinator to implement the company’s marketing and communications strategies.

This is a critical front-line position and requires a person with a high level of demonstrable initiative and experience in both digital and traditional marketing communications. They will possess excellent communication skills and attention to detail, extensive computer skills/experience and a friendly, co-operative and positive manner.

This role incorporates both project-based and organisational marketing and communications as well as other duties as required by the Marketing Manager and Chief Executive Officer.

The role has accountabilities across the following areas:

  • Consistent client and patron satisfaction.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ensuring the website is up to date.
  • Consistent delivery of accurate marketing activities, including timely production of quality marketing collateral.
  • Developing both physical and digital City Recital Hall audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Detailed knowledge of the venue and its capabilities.
  • Knowledge of the venue’s procedures and systems.

The position on occasions, will involve child related work, and so a Working with Children Clearance, prior to an offer of employment, is required.

Front of House Manager

The Role

The Front of House Manager works closely with the other managers, in particular, the Business Manager, to ensure the delivery of courteous, friendly, flexible and professional customer service to patrons, clients and all users of the facility. This is achieved via the effective leadership and management of the Front of House operations of the venue, including all Front of House staff, Front of House areas, bars, functions and catering arrangements.

The Front of House Manager is a key front-line position requiring exceptional communication and people management skills, excellent administrative skills, and a customer focused co-operative, positive and calm manner. The position requires a flexible approach to working hours, including evening and weekends.

The role has responsibilities across the following areas:

  • Excellence in venue management and customer service during performances and events.
  • Consistently high client and patron satisfaction.
  • Meeting and/or exceeding agreed profitability margins in Front of House commercial activities.
  • Leading and ensuring the safety of patrons and staff using Front of House facilities.
  • Proactively managing a team of casual staff to exceed the expectations and experiences of all visitors.
  • Effective administration of all Front of House operations.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems in use by the venue, and excellent communications with back of house to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Front of House services. 
  • Knowledge of and adherence to City Recital Hall Limited policies, procedures and systems, including WHS and emergency evacuation.

Front of House Duty Manager

The Role

The Front of House Duty Manager proactively leads the Front of House casual team to deliver efficient and effective operations of Front of House operations for concerts and events, providing exceptional customer service to patrons, hirers and presenters of City Recital Hall.

The Front of House Duty Manager will ensure smooth and cost-effective Front of House operations while meeting patrons’ needs of safety, comfort and enjoyment. They will possess excellent customer service skills, proven people management skills, experience in crowd management and a practical knowledge of first aid, WHS and evacuation procedures. 
This is a front line position and requires good presentation, excellent communication skills and a friendly, co-operative, positive and calm manner. The position requires a flexible approach to working hours, including evening and weekends.
